  1. Being reported that Vincent Kompany is on a shortlist of 4, please tell me that is not true.
  2. I think I preferred I us creating loads of chances but couldn't convert them. Today we were simply toothless and really never looked like scoring, I think it's been proven by now this team can only function playing 3 at the back. 4-3-3 was a mistake from the beginning, as was playing Gallagher. I am fed up hearing how much he energy he has, or his work rate is exceptional when nearly all of it, is simply a thing with no end product. How he didn't a second yellow near the of the match I don't know, as someone said sell him and make a some pure profit for once. Forfana on the other hand once again looking like he is worth every penny that was spent on him.
  3. 4-3-3 does not work for this team, last time out we actually created lots of chances but failed to put them away. Today hardly anything and one shot on target. Forgettable.
  4. How on earth can Chilwell be on the bench, that is very odd.
  5. Only playing two up front and its obvious Havertz is not a striker, so that leaves Felix to score the goals. Don't understand it.
  6. Until Potter starts thinking as a Chelsea manager and leaves the behind this mentality that screams mid-table thinking, he is not for me anyway capable of taking this highly talented squad into the future that Boehly and co are planning for.
  7. I am just fuming once again, why does Potter think we have to see out these matches against teams that are poor. The signs have been there in the last couple of games, Leicester didn't even try to sit deep and still had enough chances to make it very hard for us. This time I get Forfana was injured but this type of negativity against teams like Everton who lets face it are not very good, we see subs that are Brighton level mentality, why!! With the talent we have we should be looking to score another goal, instead this freaking not to lose mentality is soul destroying for me. We got away it before but we all knew we got lucky those times and got the job done, not good enough for me.
  8. Those 20 years were amazing and at my age to see us win everything was something I can't describe. However we haven't looked like winning the PL since 2017 which in my eyes is the top of the mountain. We are an amazing cup side who thrives on the one off knockout matches thus resulting in our CL win in 2021. I have said this before on other posts that this system under Roman became unsustainable because as we can see now this club ended up with players purchased under other managers that became square pegs in round holes. Once Roman was sanctioned and decided to sell the club, this hire and fire policy, no matter how successful we can claim that it was, would change. During this reign of success we inherited a ton of players that we overpaid for, they were on very high salaries and more importantly not good enough for whatever manager we had at that time, again unsustainable long term. After Boehly and Clearlake purchased the club there was going to be a new plan that would see this change, a new project and stadium rebuild in some form. This new direction is going to take time, whether GP is the right man to do this as our manager, I don't know yet. What I do know is implementing a new wage structure and making sure these salaries are incentive based to then achieve longer sustainable success, then maybe we can start looking like a side that can win the PL again. Whether our fans are patient enough to go through this, I again don't know. What I do know is, I am!
  9. These are the nights you really wished you were in the ground with your mates. Watching on TV so far away is the hardest thing for me anyway because the stress and anxiety is just too much for my old heart and blood pressure. I was in the stadium in Moscow that night and even though we lost with JT slipping with his penalty, being with fans I had met when I arrived in Moscow from Phoenix, AZ early that morning, then drank with nearly all day until the game started made the unbearable bearable after the match ended. For me this is a very special night for the fans, a night where we should all praise the gaffer and the players for the way they did it. Just remarkable!!!
  10. A couple of things that do not change for me is why for the first 20/25 minutes we look as if we are actually getting our act together, all three forwards press their gk and defenders, causing mistakes which lead to chances. Then the chances come, Havertz misses a one on one with their GK, then Felix hits a great volley that hits the bar. Again I have seen time and time again, press 20/25 minutes, miss chances, then revert to type and we look a different team. Don't get it. Obviously this has already been brought up in this thread, but those substitutions were the act of a manager who is thinking about how can we hang on and keep a 1-0 lead, rather than be more balanced by strengthening our midfield and bring on Mudryk to murder them with his counter attacking speed, because Leeds would still have committed players forward no matter what? But no, Mudryk a player that not only cost a lot of money, but has been picked for our CL squad ahead of Badashille who with Silva now out for 6 weeks looks like a mistake. Surely Mudryk could have got 20 minutes even with Dortmund in mind. Look we won and the three points are very important, but for me it again proved GP doesn't have the pedigree to take us into the next season, hope I am wrong.
  11. I know Jane, but this Arsenal side is the real deal I think.
  12. I think you are right about that, it helps a little today but Dortmund is the money match
  13. Why is RLC still on the pitch, he is a liability now Gnonto has come on
