Is that a quote? That probably means hes out

Yes it is a quote, and no, it doesn't necessarily mean he's out, depending on how you wish to take what he said. While most journos are assuming it means he no longer wishes to be considered for the job, it can be argued that he's merely pointing that with nothing agreed, the earlier tweets from the likes of Fabrizio Romano saying he'd pulled out were meaningless.

Some people find being put on a shortlist insulting, particularly when they're available and others aren't. Maybe that could have been the case here.

Nagelsmann's gone from the running (unfortunately), I would have really liked Luis Enrique and I can see the merits of Poch Pochettino (though I rather it wasn't).

I can't lie though. there is something that draws me in with trilogies, even if the second part stunk a bit.

I'm sure someone mentioned this before , Burnley were away in London somewhere and he went out to dinner afterwards and so immediately became a candidate for Chelsea , because those clicks aren't gonna click themselves.

Burnley were away at Reading  where they managed 0 shots on target against a team in relegation trouble. Probably not a coach we need but who????

Wow huge news day for Chelsea today. Anyone heard about Todd turning down the chance to sign Mbappe?

Apparently Mbappe was fully ready to sign in the summer and impressed well in early talks but there were concerns about him being collaborative enough ("too arrogant") and only wanting to focus his efforts on the football pitch.

Chelsea wanted to put him through a two month interview process with Patrick Bamford and Dominic Solanke as the other leading contenders to solve Chelsea's striker crisis.

Boehly has been impressed by Bamford's work off the pitch - including his charity work and A Level grades.
With Mbappe out of the race - it's between Bamford and Solanke for the new striker position. More to come!

It just gets worse. What has happened to Chelsea today!!!

Reece James in on Boehly's hit list after the wing-back refused to film a 15 minute video game session with Todd's 12 year old son Apple Cinnamon Boehly during the Real Madrid half time break.

Apple Cinnamon brought an Xbox into the Chelsea dressing room - expecting to share a streamed game of Minecraft - and was left distraught by James who was focusing on his half-time rituals.

Boehly and Eghbali have now launched a process to replace James who is not seen as being a good fit for Chelsea moving forwards.

Sky Sports understands that their shortlist includes Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Seamus Coleman.

Boehly and co. were impressed by Coleman in the early round of talks - who played Minecraft with Apple Cinnamon and even let him win.

I took it to mean talks didn’t go well. Neither party sees any point in going on. So we’re looking elsewhere and he’s no longer interested.

Jose a busted flush.... Me thinks not...Going great guns  with Roma in Seria A (Above both AC and Inter Milan the Champions league Italian semi finalists  still there) won a European cup for the first ever time for Roma last season...Took Spurs to a final and was then sacked on the eve,led a poor Man Utd to finish second in the league and won the Europa cup for them....I still think he has a lot to offer and really cant understand whats not to like if he ''came home''....!!

Plus, He never rated Lakaku...!!

❝Reds manager Jose Mourinho said: "Romelu is a natural fit for Manchester United. He is a big personality and a big player. It is only natural that he wants to develop his career at the biggest club. Played the vast majority of Man U games while JM was manager. That's quite a lot for someone JM apparently didn't rate.

Pedigree?

Espanyol: Won nothing, win percentage 33%

Southampton: Won nothing, win percentage 38%

Spuds: Won nothing, win percentage 54%

PSG: Actually lost the league title in France which is some sort of achievement I guess.

We're already sufficiently "Spursy", we don't need the architect of that malaise at our club. We need to win, not be the plucky also ran.

Mate he was there to screw them over. And a good job he did too. He had to let them win the League Cup and the Europa League just to mask his fiendish plans. It's taken them over 5 years to get back to any sort of an even keel. I'd have Jose back for the final part of the trilogy.

Yeah, this is also my concern

TB sporting group will not. He is their polar opposite their Brighton philosophy of the data analysis buying the players.

Remember the conflict between JM and Emenalo when the club supported JM.

Finishing in the bottom half of the table is bad enough for me,but having Mourhino back would send me over the edge.

Having to listen to " my boys" and his cryptic nonsense and fakeness is just something i couldn't stand.

I think the Board have screwed up again. The “process” of interviewing several managers just shows you don’t have a clue who you want and just makes the club look like it’s run by a bunch of amateurs. What manager will want to get involved in such nonsense? You go for the manager you want and sell the club to them. Not the other way round. I’m sorry but all this does is prove that Boehly and Co. are clueless. We’ve managed to alienate the two best candidates and we’re left with a choice between Kompany and Pochettino. This would never have happened  under Abramovich. We are in much deeper trouble than I thought.

@Original 21

Share your concerns but maybe like most of us you are nbeing dragged down by the present situation.

First off...going for the "manager you want" without looking at alternatives got Chelsea GP...how did that work out?

The selection process now is being handled by a specialist group...time will tell how specialist and knowledgeable they are but listening to the philosophy and forward looking views of a candidate surely is better than taking it as read that a candidate is suitable and fits in with long term strategy?

Roman's "strength was if there was a mistake at the helm he moved them on regardless of financial penalty...an investment unit has to more prudent..another GP fiasco has to be avoided.
