Whether we would have better or worse is a mute point, we were massively better off for his presence over the last four seasons. Madueke said after the Villa game that Silva got after them at half-time and clearly got them more motivated for that second half performance on Saturday. A reason why, and in line with his sentiments in that video, we ought to have him back here in a coaching position (the top one for me) as soon as possible. Thiago, Azpi, Jorginho, Kante, Alonso, Kovacic were all past their prime, whilst Werner and Havertz had mixed careers, and ditto AC really. I was heartened though by the very definite impression that he will be coming back to the club one day. I thought he would just go back to Brazil permanently and that would be it, but maybe not 🤞 As I've said before on here, his elder son signed a 2 year contract with the club a year ago, and, as he said, his other son also plays for Chelsea. Not sure how they will make that work but I hope they do. They seem such a lovely family. The two boys appear to have been brought up very well and accept their mother's social media antics with good grace!! How great would it be to have JT and TS as defence coaches? Thereafter he rarely put a foot wrong with Ashley Cole like clearances off the line, Marcel Desailly like shadowing of players out to touch and John Terry like heart and leadership on the pitch. He had to earn his career which plays a big part in why.
