That’s because the others went earlier today, but not withstanding that, it’s a London derby and they sell out and have done for years and now this hasn’t.

Whichever way it’s dressed up, unusual and worrying.

In previous years, tickets weren't on sale for GBP 180.

I don't disagree with your overall sentiment, but going back to the original point, we have circa 27k season ticket holders. Most of whom are long serving, and are highly unlikely to ever give up their seats. Once you take away the away allocation, there is very remaining for members / general sale, and the demand for those few seats will remain far higher than the supply.

There’s a few round me that are talking about it. Now they moan and say they will, but will they actually?

There’s also the possibility that the owners will go forward with a new ground (foolish if the ticket sales are falling consistently) and lots more are saying they won’t renew if we end up at Wembley etc. temporarily.

That 8900 crowd against Coventry in 1994.

I know that the MHL was being built then and so that would have affected numbers.

It was also not long before the FA Cup final against Manure.

Additionally, and if you look at the footage, there are clearly still more than 9000 there and we all know about Ken's cash business accounting.

I'm sure there was another factor too. Maybe some kind of strike action?

Can anyone remember?

Who the hell would pay that to watch this shower of bastards.

There’s a fancy ticket now that provides an escorted pitch side (literally standing on the touchlne in front of the West Stand) watching the warm-up, sometimes an ex-player accompanies the people. Plus the usual top-level corporate embellishments these are going for up to £1500 a pop!

I think there were train problems. I was a young lad then and I remember Dad and I not going.

Yeah I'm fairly certain there was something relating to transport.

This game appears as a weapon to bash us with on the plastics argument.

It was completely out of left-field to get a crowd that small in 1994.  I knew there were several factors.

Can't remember transport issues, however travelling from Wimbledon town centre was straight forward.

19k was the average for that season.

High points FA cup final, steins hat trick against the spuds

How long before we seriously consider the idea that Winstanley is in fact an agent that has been sent by Brighton to extract as much money as possible from Boelake?

Rule of thumb:

If it's Nizaar it's Nah

Nizaar is a bum.

Not that he ever had much credibility to begin with but after his "review" of one the cup game we had early in the season, which was the complete opposite of what actually happened, he's firmly entrenched himself as not someone to take seriously.

Egbhali: "Todd, you won't believe it dude. We found this kid who is a cross between Messi and Ronaldinho".

The club needs to hire a mini bus and load Pochettino, his staff and these utter clowns into it and drive it to the moon.

I’m getting a bit worried about this weird attraction to Brazilian children. It’s like the sporting director is Gary Glitter.

I was thinking more of a very large cannon, the f****r/s could drive the bus back! 😉

I'm no doubt in the minority here, but I don't quite understand why there's the distain shown for us trying to continue to sign young talent? Many bitched and moan for years about us not signing young talent earlier before the ended up at established clubs, now that we are trying to have more irons in the fire, while still retaining intent on first team matters, it's frowned upon?

I would understand it more if we negated the first team all together but that's not the case, even if there is currently a heavy youth focused approach. Would opinions be different if we were signing established senior options instead or were performing better than we are?

The way I see it is that youth signings serve multiple purposes. We either snag them early, if they develop and become senior players great, if not then they're sellable assets. Now, there's factors at play in terms of initial buy in and everything, but they are investments be it for financial or sporting gain - nothing is risk free after all.

Would I prefer us to focus more on addressing first team matter? Absolutely. That said, both can also coexist together.

By all reports this Estevao is one of the brightest talents in South America, outside of Endrick (Real Madrid), the kid that just signed for Man City out of Argentina who's name escapes me, and Kendry Paez who we've already signed. PSG were trying to sign him in the summer IIRC as well. If Endrick didn't have the hype around him that he did from what I understand Estevao would have had more attention.

Certainly not a priority by any means, but at the same time continuing to track upcoming talent is important in itself.

Einstein's definition of insanity explains a lot.
Buying 16 yos reeks of moving the deckchairs on the Titanic while the band played on.

And then when we miss out on signing the next big thing I presume no one will complain? Please.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with continuing to try and secure the best young talent available, providing it doesn't come at the expense of investing in the first team. And so far, irrespective of our form or approach that hasn't been the case. We've spent amply in both areas.
